Really Really Important Relay Rally Information

The Race : this is how it works!

This is a downhill-ish race with a relay twist. Teams of 4 will take turns to race top to bottom trading off the timing chip at each stage. 
One run, one shot at glory!

Starting at the bottom, riders will pedal, push or drag their way up to their chosen trail head (no racig here!) and await their teammate to deliver the timing chip before they begin their descent. The team is timed from top to bottom, no individual stage times - we’re keeping it simple.

The top track will be for the hardest of the core who will be riding Stage 1- FAT SAC (grade 5/ black). At the end of this section rider one will pass off their timing chip to their team mate. Rider two will then drop into Stage 2 - WILD BOARZ (grade 4 /dark blue). Once again the timing chip torch gets passed along to the next rider who will race their way down Stage 3 - BLADE (grade 3/ light blue). The final rider will bring ‘er home to the finish line on Stage 4- BIRTHDAY CAKE (grade 2/ green).

This event can be for the shreddiest of shredders to the friendliest of families and everyone in between. Categories are determined once the times are in, with prizes awarded to the fastest, middle fastest and fastest of the lastest!! So go as hard or as comfortably chill as you would like, there is space on the podium for all levels!

Don’t have enough mates for a team? Don’t worry! Just enter as an individual, state your level of riding ability and we’ll match you up with a bunch of stragglers! But remember, just about anyone can ride Stage 4 so even your non-biker friends and family can enter too!

Themes

This is a dress- up rally, as all great rallies are. So do your thing, whatever that may be, because there will be prizes here too.
Little hint: your dress-up judge is a big fan of bright colours, co-ordination, and googley eyes. Team themes will be rewarded!

BBQ Potluck Peoples Choice Cook-off :

It’s a mouthful, I know. But isn’t that the whole point of a cook-off?

This portion of the rally is a bit more open to creative freedoms. We will have a big beautiful BBQ available for use, first come first cook. Or BYO BBQ / SMOKER/ GRILL if your tools suit you best. There will be prizes for best Sides , Dessert and a Grand Prize going to Meatiest Meat. Rally teams are also encouraged to bring along a potluck item for the post race feast.

Camping

Camping is ON all weekend, with lots of space available. Multi-day Rally Camp passes will be available to purchase when you register, or if you are just coming to cook, cheer and play. It’s a long weekend so you might as well make the most of it and settle in for the long haul! The rally camp will be open from Friday to Monday, with a very special movie premiere at the make-shift outdoor theatre on Saturday night. Sunday night we’ll light the bonfire and dance the night away!

Usual rules apply… no dogs, take your rubbish away with you when you leave, don’t drink and drive! Stay the night instead!!
